Disability & Inclusion Ministry

Our Willow Friends Ministry is for those who have intellectual disabilities and the volunteers in Willow Friends are the heart of the entire ministry! You bring a willing heart, we provide the training and, together, we can serve all the kids, teens, and adults with special needs in our church as well as their families. Come serve with us in one of the following roles:

Buddy (on Sundays)

Come alongside a child, teen, or adult in Willow Friends or Next Gen ministries. Partner with your buddy during the service and help them participate and be successful in the activities throughout the service.

Available at Crystal Lake, South Barrington.

Small Group Leader (on Wednesdays)

Encourage social and spiritual interaction between table members during Bible study. During this time, small group leaders facilitate table participation, review a Bible story with the table, apply the Bible’s truth in their lives and ensure safety.

Willow Friend’s Musical Production Volunteers (only during the months of January-June)

The following opportunities are available:
Mentor - Supports an artist (with a disability) on and off the stage. (Mentors must be aged 11-18).
Artist - Individuals with a disability who participate in the show. (Artists must be age 10-22).
Scenic: Help paint, build, and design the sets for each scene in the show. All skills are accepted and encouraged.
